The receiver was designed to keep SWL on the air - ground. Used at a level lower tactical levels, mainly as an infantry and artillery. Also seen as an accessory carts for Command and Joint Staff.
The receiver fully transistorized replaced the earlier model R-870. Structurally and systemically very similar to radio R-809M2. He climbed the equipment of the Polish Army in the mid 70s.
