R-353 "Proton"

HF Radiostation

A typical Soviet "agent" radio station for spies and agents acting on the rear of the enemy. Designed to automatically send via telegraphy short encrypted messages consisting of digital groups.

Sent a message first had to be "printed" on a special celluloid using a suitable encoder and then put in a snap decoding and connected to the radio. Sent in a very short period of time message (baud rate 400 baud) significantly disrupted the enemy to intercept transmissions and track the position of the radio. The radio station also broadcast manual allowed by the classic telegraph key.

The receiver allows reception of both auditory signals, telegraph and telephone (and single-sideband amplitude modulation). She went to the equipment of the Polish Army in the late 60s. The transceiver built using semiconductor components and subminiature lamps, the transmitter output stage lamp GU-19.
