Soviet automatic rifle, a modernized version of the AK rifle. In 1949, the armament of the Soviet Army adopted AK rifle. In the following years produced new versions of the carbine different kind of castle chambers. The first series had pressed the castle chamber, and later because of the difficulty in mastering this technology by companies in Izhevsk created two types of milled castle chambers.
In 1956 he started producing the next version of AK, marked as AKM. This time the changes were larger and included: the re-use of pumped castle chambers, simplified method of fixing barrel in the cast (instead of a threaded connection used pinning), double (added lugs), the cover of the castle (there are three ribbed for stiffness), trigger (added retarder valve reduces the spread of the fire continuously), the use of new bayonet (6H3 or 6H4), return mechanism, the pipe and the gas chamber.
